Knox takes security very seriously. We use many security and fraud prevention procedures. A company named Paperless Payments processes all of our electronic giving. They use a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer encryption when transmitting financial data - the most secure encryption method available. In addition, your data is stored on a highly stable and secure server that sits behind an electronic firewall that prevents interference or access from outside intruders.  We test our security systems regularly and restrict access to your personally identifiable information.

Why Give Online

Some of the benefits of giving electronically are:
  • There is no need to write checks or bring cash to church.
  • There is peace of mind knowing that the church is receiving your contribution even if you are unable to attend
  • Electronic giving is more secure than checks
  • All contributions are recorded for you on your bank statement with the date of settlement and you will continue to receive contribution statements from the Church.
  • The Church is better able to maintain its records
  • It costs you nothing and helps the Church manage its cash flow better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is electronic giving?
Electronic giving is a direct payment program offered by the church whereby your contribution is debited automatically from your checking or savings account.

Q. What are the advantages of electronic giving?
It makes it easy to fulfill your stewardship commitment, even when you can't attend worship at Knox Presbyterian Church. You never have to bring cash or checks to church. Giving electronically also helps the church save money and improve its cash flow.

Q. How are my contributions automatically deducted from my account?
Once you have completed the online setup at the Knox secure website, the contribution amount you specify will automatically be transferred from your bank account on the day you specify.

Q. When will my contribution be deducted form my account?
Your electronic contribution will be debited on the date you specify on the paperless payments website.

Q. If I do not write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?
Since your contribution is made at a pre-established item, you simply record it in your check register on the appropriate date. Electronic contributions are recorded for you on your bank statement.

Q. Without a cancelled check, how can I prove I made the contribution?
Your bank statement gives you an itemized list of electronic transactions. In addition the IRS now requires the Church to provide you with a statement of contribution which they consider the legal receipt for the contribution. At Knox we issue an annual statement of giving in January for the previous year.

Q. What if I change bank accounts or want to end my electronic contributions?
Login to your account and update the information that has changed. You are also able to suspend automatic contributions within a few minutes of your request.
