Q. What is electronic giving?Electronic giving is a direct payment program offered by the church whereby your contribution is debited automatically from your checking or savings account.
Q. What are the advantages of electronic giving? It makes it easy to fulfill your stewardship commitment, even when you can't attend worship at Knox Presbyterian Church. You never have to bring cash or checks to church. Giving electronically also helps the church save money and improve its cash flow.
Q. How are my contributions automatically deducted from my account?Once you have completed the online setup at the Knox secure website, the contribution amount you specify will automatically be transferred from your bank account on the day you specify.
Q. When will my contribution be deducted form my account?Your electronic contribution will be debited on the date you specify on the paperless payments website.
Q. If I do not write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?Since your contribution is made at a pre-established item, you simply record it in your check register on the appropriate date. Electronic contributions are recorded for you on your bank statement.
Q. Without a cancelled check, how can I prove I made the contribution?Your bank statement gives you an itemized list of electronic transactions. In addition the IRS now requires the Church to provide you with a statement of contribution which they consider the legal receipt for the contribution. At Knox we issue an annual statement of giving in January for the previous year.
Q. What if I change bank accounts or want to end my electronic contributions?Login to your account and update the information that has changed. You are also able to suspend automatic contributions within a few minutes of your request.
Q. Is electronic giving risky? It's less risky than writing checks or bringing cash to church. Electronic contributions cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed and have an extremely high rate of accuracy.
Q. How much does electronic giving cost? There is no cost for you to give using Electronic contribution. A small see is paid by Knox but it is offset by the ease of receiving electronically versus the cost of manual entry and posting.
Q. What if I try electronic giving and don't like it?You can log into your account through the Knox site and cancel or suspend contributions at anytime.
