The Above and Beyond Campaign is our new Stewardship campaign with the goal of eliminating the debt we owe for the Knox Activity Center. Going Going Gone! Knox Pays Off Small Note!
By God’s grace, the financial leadership of the Knox Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce to the congregation tremendous news concerning the Above and Beyond campaign. As of March 30, 2008, the smaller debt on the activity center has been paid in full! Praise God for His goodness and for providing such faithful givers at Knox!
In October 2007, the Knox session approved the Above and Beyond Campaign with the goals to inform the congregation of Knox’s mortgage on the Knox Activity Center and speed up repayment of the debt. In November the congregation confirmed these same goals to pay off the small note ($92,427.79) by December 31, 2008 and to pay off the large note ($631,157.00) by December 31, 2012.
The congregation not only approved the plan but has rallied around it. The church has paid off the smaller note in just over four months, a full nine months ahead of schedule. The giving has come in a variety of ways including small coins, large checks, stocks, IRA gifts, and regular systematic weekly offerings. The larger debt on the activity center now stands at $613,404.99 and the campaign seeks to eliminate this obligation over the next five years. Knox is now benefiting from the snowball effect with monthly payments no longer used on the small loan being used to pay down the capital on the larger loan.
The Session, the Trustees and the pastors of Knox wish to thank the Knox congregation for their overwhelming support towards the Above and Beyond campaign. May God bless Knox as we continue in our journey of faith together! “For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability.” II Corinthians 8:3
