Upward Basketball started at Knox in 2004

Upward Promotes Character and self-esteem in every child by

• Providing an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities
• Establishing a one-hour practice and game each week
• Implementing a substitution system for each team, allowing every child equal playing time
• Creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game

When Your Child Plays Upward Basketball He/She will be able to:

• Practice and play a game every week
• Get equal playing time
• Learn basketball skills
• Receive special recognition awards after every game
• Develop new friendships

New for the 2008 season is Upward Cheerleading!

When Your Child Cheers For Upward Cheerleading She Will Be Able To:

• Sign up individually, not as a squad
• Learn techniques to improve her skills
• Receive special recognition awards after every game
• Embark on new friendships

The following are the key dates for Upward Basketball:

• Evaluations-October 22, 25, November 5
• First Practice-January 7th
• Photo Day-January 19th
• Game Days-Begins January 26th through March 15th
• Awards Night-March 13th
